We Are One

 Mark Twain said "It is rare to find an objective and independent viewpoint on style, literature, politics, or any other matter. Many people's opinions are formed through their associations with others. It is our nature to conform; conformity is a force that few can successfully resist. We give in to the human instinct to go along with the crowd and to have its approval." I agree with his opinion for the following two reasons.

  First of all, we all take the same education and knowledge. All we learn are similar, history, theories, stories, articles, and so on. It's no strange If we have similar opinions, because we take similar educations. In my old school in China, It's common for students to write essaies with same topic and thesis, even though It's a free writing. We've been taguht how to write a good essay, so we follow the same gudie, and our results are similar.

  Second, It's hard for us to write some 'unique' topics and ideas. Now people are afraid to become obviously by doing things different from others. It's danger to write a different, unusal topic, because we don't know if we can get a high grade or not. That's why people choose to be regular, for safe. China have an important test like SAT, but students can only take it once. If they get bad grade in this test, they will lose everything. Many students choose to write regular topics during the test, those who write 'different' topics sometimes will get a 0. That's terrible for them who want a good grade.

   I think people now become similar because of society.  It's danger for us to become different, and It's hard for us to understand what is really 'different'.
